Estonian startup developing 3D standard for web
The open source technology is for interactive 3D and 2D content on the web and is superior to what is possible with HTML, according to TigerPrises.com.
The firm, based in Tartu and established in 2006, has released a beta version of the 3D editor, which enables the creation of 3D models and animations as easily as creating HTML documents, according to the company.
Kaspar Koov, a co-owner of the firm, who was quoted in the report, sees the technology integrating with a variety of applications including CMS, news portals, CRM and business intelligence tools.
3D Technologies R&D believes that in the future more than 50% of web content will be shown in the 3D format.
