Silicon-on-insulator wafer supplier Soitec SA said it would hire 150 employees, including about 75 engineers, by mid-2007. This follows the company’s announcement of its intention to build its next 300-mm SOI wafer fab within the next two to three years.
 
PARIS - Silicon-on-insulator wafer supplier Soitec SA said it would hire 150 employees, including about 75 engineers, by mid-2007. This follows the company’s announcement of its intention to build a new 300-mm SOI wafer fab within the next two to three years, according to the French magazine L’Usine Nouvelle.

As part of its hiring strategy, Soitec (Bernin, France) is searching for engineers with specific skills in the physics of materials to hold positions in the fields of R&D, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and quality. Other engineers will be dedicated to sales, quality, logistics and exports, added L’Usine Nouvelle.

Besides, the SOI specialist will hire technicians specialized in electrotechnics, industrial maintenance, and the physics of materials to hold positions in maintenance, process support, and production scheduling. Operators will also be hired for clean rooms.
