Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent win Verizon's LTE rollout deal

BARCELONA; Spain — Verizon Wireless announced at the Mobile World Congress here Wednesday (Feb. 18) that it chose Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson as its initial infrastructure suppliers for its roll out of Long Term Evolution networks in the U.S.
The operator, part owned by Vodafone, plans to initially use its 700 MHz spectrum for the buildout, but did not say what the effort would cost.
